July 27-28 Chapters 25-27 (pages 331-374)
The last three chapters of this book was absolutely flawless. I have to say that by far, this has been the best book I have ever read. I can't believe that Katniss AND Peetah won the games! It's almost like it worked out perfectly. However, I thought that the ending was very sad when Katniss was dreading the fact that she had to let go of Peetah. Also, when they announced that there could only be one winner, I was so mad, but they finally changed it and they both won! This book was amazing and I had a great time reading it!

July 22-26 Chapters 21-24 (pages 278-330)
Katniss is AMAZING. I'm very happy that Peetah is alive and with Katniss. It was a great thing that they got help from Haymitch, such as the medicine and the food, and so on. I feel that Katniss trusts Peetah a lot. It seems to be that Katniss and Peetah are doing great in the games. They are getting enough food and water, and they have each other. These chapters were amazing! I just think Katniss will do anything to keep Peetah alive and healthy during the games. Their almost there, winning the games! I'm amazed how fast the games went by. Two down. One more to go.

July 20- 21 Chapters 17-20 (Pages 157-195)
Poor, Poor Katniss! She can't hear out of her left ear AND she is burned pretty bad. I still can't believe how brave and strong she is. I can't believe that boy killed Rue. Katniss's ally. Her friend. Also, when she stabbed that boy in the neck, that took courage, and bravery. She did that for Rue. I was stunned, even though it was Katniss's first kill. I thought it was about the sweetest thing in the world for her to help Peetah like that. Clean off his clothes, care for his injuries and clean him off. The way she protected him was like the way she cares for Prim. Here's the truth, Peetah loves Katniss and Katniss loves Peetah. That's atleast what I think. Atleast they don't need to kill each other from the rule changing. Katniss is just amazing, personally.

July 18-19 Chapters 13-16 (pages 123-156)
As I read further and further, the Games get more intense. These four chapters were interesting, yet very intense. Katniss is brave! The things she has been through is crazy! I'm so happy for her that she has survived so far and is hoping she will continue with her good work. The way she has taken care of herself is great. It's probably not very complicated for her because I know she always took care of her family back at home. People are already getiing teamed up and starting Careers. Also, Katniss has met a new friend! I'm so happy for her. Rue is amazing. She's vry helpful, strong, intelligent, and is very supportive. If Rue hadn't told Katniss that there was a wasp's nest behind her, Katniss could have been in some deep trouble. To get rid of the Careers, Katniss was going to have to do something to get rid of them. Their food source. When Katniss got rid of ALL their food, I was amazed. This shows how smart Katniss is by telling that there were land mines near their food source. Wow! What's next, Katniss?

I could not stop reading after these 4 chapters! Finally! The Hunger Games are about to begin! I can literally feel how scared Katniss is. I honestly think the Hunger Games are ridiculous. Even though Katniss is getting trained and prepared for the games, it's pretty intense for kids their age to be doing this to each other. I feel scared for Katniss! I'm SURE Katniss got a lot of sponsors, because I think she did very good job performing. I actually understand Haymitch now. I think he actually likes Katniss. Katniss just doesnt realize it. He's trying to help and train her for the games. I mean, he's going to have to be hard on her...It's the Hunger Games! I have to say, I absolutely LOVE Cinna. He's nice, he helps her, and he's very supportive for Katniss. The Hunger Games finally began. It's pretty amazing on how fast people are already starting to attack and already making allies and Careers. 24 people to keep away from is pretty difficult. Best of luck to you, Katniss!

July 12-15 Chapters 5-8 (pages 46-82)
I feel that things are starting to get a little interesting here. It's hard to tell if Katniss likes Peetah or if Peetah likes Katniss. It's obvious that they would rather not hurt one another, but I wonder if it's all just a game...It's also hard to tell if Peetah is being nice just to lead Katniss into his little trap for the Games. I thought it was a good plan to kiss Peetah on the cheek to be sneaky just like Peetah is. I mean, it would be dreadful if it was just Peetah being nice just to kill her... These four chapters were pretty intense. I honestly think Katniss likes Peetah, but she has to be careful because it might just be a trap in Peetah's plan for the Hunger Games. July 5-11, 2010 - Chapters 1-4 (pages 1-45)
I have to say that I feel very sorry for Katniss and her family. Can you imagine having to struggle for food all the time? However, I think Katniss is very helpful by keeping her family alive and getting them food. I think that it is amazing to do such a thing for her family, because she's just a 16 year old girl. Katniss risks her life to hunt and get the food her family needs to survive. This shows that Katniss is very brave and has courage. Katniss is basically the family's provider. She works very hard for her family by making money in the Hob, which is the black market. When Prim's name slip got chosen, Katniss volunteered for her younger sister. I feel this shows her love, bravery, and care for Prim. Obviously, Katniss is by far my favorite character.
